This Instant Creamy Cold Coffee blended with ice is ridiculously easy to make, takes less than 5 minutes, and tastes just like what you’d get at a café. It’s kid-friendly (you can reduce the coffee if serving to younger kids), customisable with any flavours of your choice, and simply delicious.
This creamy blended cold coffee is my go-to recipe for making cafe style blended coffee frappuccino at home using just instant coffee, milk, sugar, and ice. It’s quick, delicious, and perfect for beating the summer heat- just like we used to enjoy growing up in India.
I remember how my mum would blend it up in big batches for us during those sweltering summer evenings -rich, creamy, perfectly sweet, and full of frothy goodness! No fancy machines or barista skills needed ,you just need instant coffee powder, milk, sugar, and ice.
🛒 Ingredients required to make Iced blended Cold coffee at home
This is a true pantry-staple recipe. Here’s what you need:
Instant Coffee Powder– Use any instant coffee you love. I usually use Davidoff Rich Aroma -my top pick for the best coffee for cold coffee-but Bru coffee powder and Nescafe Gold coffee also work beautifully.
Cold Milk– Use full-fat milk for that creamy texture, but feel free to substitute with low-fat, skim, or plant-based milk like oat milk or almond milk if you prefer.
Sugar– White sugar blends well, but you can also try brown sugar, coconut sugar, or even maple syrup for variation.
Ice Cubes– Blending ice while making the coffee makes it refreshingly chilled and helps get that frothy texture .
📌 Steps to Make Instant blended Cold Coffee

FAQs
Yes but it will be more like an iced coffee and not as creamy! Mix coffee and sugar in warm water and stir until dissolved. Add chilled milk and ice and shake everything in a jar or use a frother.
Use full-fat milk, reduce the milk slightly, or freeze the coffee-milk-sugar mixture for 30–40 minutes before blending. Also you can add a scoop of vanilla or coffee ice cream while blending to make the coffee creamier and thicker.
Absolutely! Oat milk and almond milk work great and add their own flavour twist.
Not exactly. Cold coffee (especially in India) is usually blended with milk, sugar and ice for a creamy drink. It is more like a Frappuccino (Frappe), while iced coffee is often just brewed coffee with / without milk and ice cubes.
It’s best enjoyed fresh, but you can store it in the fridge for up to 6 hours. Give it a quick stir or blend before serving.
Instant coffee is the best choice for this cold coffee recipe. It dissolves easily in cold milk, is quick to use. You get a creamy, café-style cold coffee without extra steps in a few minutes. .
Brewed coffee works too, but needs to be cooled first and can make the drink more watery and less creamy unless you use strong shots of espresso.
Instant coffee is pre-brewed coffee that’s been dehydrated into powder or granules. You need to simply mix it with water or milk – no brewing is required.
Ground coffee is made from roasted coffee beans that need to be brewed (in a French press, drip machine, moka pot, etc.) to extract the perfect flavour. It doesn’t dissolve in water like instant coffee.
👉 For quick recipes like this cold coffee, instant coffee is much more convenient.
Regular coffee typically refers to freshly brewed coffee made from ground coffee beans using methods like a drip machine,French press,or espresso maker. It has a fresher and more complex flavour but takes a lot more time and equipments.
For quick and easy desi style cold coffee recipe, instant coffee is the most convenient option.
🧊 Blender Recommendations for making instant cold coffee
For best results, use a high-speed blender:
- I use my Magimix when I’m making cold coffee in larger batches (for the whole family).
- For a quick single serving, I love using my Ninja Blender – powerful and easy to clean.
- Other great options include Vitamix, NutriBullet, or even a hand blender for small quantities.
If you’re making cold coffee regularly, investing in a good blender really helps get that perfect café-style creaminess and froth.
